About Play Pals Preschool (San Leandro)
Play Pals Preschool is an inclusive, play-based preschool run by East Bay Child Development Center in San Leandro. Children of all abilities learn side by side, including kids with speech delays or other developmental needs and their neurotypical peers. Speech therapy happens on site during the school day, so children don’t leave class for separate appointments. The program follows a Reggio Emilia, child-led approach with natural materials, sensory play and outdoor exploration, and keeps a high adult-to-child ratio. There are two groups: Caterpillars (toddlers, 18 months to 3 years) and Butterflies (preschool, 3 to 4 years). Families get daily updates through an app; snacks, nap mats and wipes are provided. To enroll, book a tour, come to two play dates, then apply.
